Two Mercedes icons. One exceptional Pitstop.
Formula 1 technology for the public road
What happens when Formula 1 technology moves from the track to the street? What do you feel when standing face to face with two of the most extreme Mercedes-AMG models ever built? During February, the Louwman Museum presents a rare duo: the Mercedes-AMG ONE and the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Edition One. On display during our Pitstop from 1 February through 1 March.
Mercedes-Benz’s success in Formula 1 during the middle of the previous decade was unprecedented. World titles followed in rapid succession and inside the factory a bold idea took shape: build a road car using the powertrain of a Formula 1 car. The project proved to be an immense technical challenge and came close to cancellation more than once. Mercedes pushed forward. Eight years later, the result arrived: the Mercedes-AMG ONE. The ONE is a hypercar without precedent. A 1.6-liter V6 turbo engine, directly derived from the F1 race car, combined with four electric motors. The outcome is more than 1,000 hp, a top speed of 352 km/h, and performance previously unthinkable for a road-legal car. Production was limited to 275 examples, placing the ONE among the most exclusive Mercedes models ever built.
