Today, we remember the war veterans in the Louwman Museum. The Willys Jeep Model MB and the Volkswagen 166 Schwimmwagen. By the end of the war, the number of Jeeps produced was an army: 639,245! In all, roughly 14,000 Schwimmwagens were built. The Jeep was at home in every type of terrain. The Schwimmwagen was at home on the water. The Jeep won the war. The Schwimmwagen didn’t. Even after the war, the Schwimmwagens had a hard time. Due to the great steel demand, many were scrapped. 🪖
