The Tourist Trophy Race 1908

The RAC Tourist Trophy Race of 1908 was held on the Isle of Man. The event developed into a heated contest between Arthur George‘s Darracq, Algie Guinness’ Darracq and William Watson’s Hutton, but, on the final lap, George’s Daracq fractured a fuel line, and suddenly the car was ablaze – Watson’s Hutton becoming the unexpected winner, followed by Guinness’ Darracq.
