Société Parisienne Cycles Voiturettes
Lithography on paper
C.H. Street was an Art Nouveau artist. This poster features a landscape with unique colouring. The outer border is black and gray, whereas the inner circle is yellow and orange emphasizing the central sunset. We also see a couple driving off in an automobile. The young female onlooker seems to be observing this dreamlike scene and the newfound freedom of an automobile.
Société Parisienne (Maison Parisienne) founded by Mr. Reynard was a French manufacturer of velocipedes, bicycles and tricycles from 1876 until 1903. They began limited automobile construction in 1894 and regular light car (voiturette) construction in 1898.
