Humphrey Cook (1893-1978)-caricature
The quiet but enthusiastic Cook started racing in 1914. He competed in Vauxhalls in the early 1920s and Bugattis in the late 1920s, mostly at Brooklands. He raced for Aston Martin in 1931. He helped to set up the ERA company and later competed in some races for ERA.
These caricatures were drawn by Frederick Gordon Crosby in 1935. The racing drivers shown were well-known to the British racing enthusiasts of that era, particularly due to their performances at the Brooklands track and major events on the continent.
