Dunlop Ballon
Lithography on paper
Pierre Delarue-Nouvellière was a French architect, painter, illustrator and photographer. He worked for the “Dunlop Gazette”, where he was Artistic Director, and he was responsible for many illustrations for the magazine “Automobilia”. Delarue-Nouvellière was also a railway specialist and wrote and illustrated many articles for “La Vie du Rail”. He exhibited his painting “Save the Railway” at the 1929 Salon des Humoristes.
Here we see a rare example of a technical presentation of a tyre set on a rim, a spoke wheel, a hub, a brake cylinder, and suspension rods of a Dunlop tyre. The focus is on the Dunlop tyre itself, but quite clearly the driver of the automobile is very pleased with his Dunlops.
