De Dion-Bouton
Lithography on paper
Henri Thiriet was a reclusive personality who created several memorable cycling and motoring posters. Thiriet was a prolific French poster artist, book illustrator and painter. He painted in a flamboyant Art Nouveau style.
The poster contains information about the De Dion-Bouton’s horsepower and price as well as a strong message about the lifestyle attached to the automobile. The lady driver has a new claimed freedom behind the wheel of the automobile and her chauffeur is no longer required.
This work was produced, printed and published by Lemaire Lith and J. Barreau in Paris.
